Prophylactic immunization of cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
None.

Description

COMPOSITION:
Each dose of vaccine contains: Live attenuated Lumpy Skin Disease virus, strain Neethling………….> 103,5TCID50

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY THE PERSON ADMINISTERING THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT TO ANIMALS:
•Avoid contact with eyes, hands, and clothing.
•In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
•Handle animals as per standard practices.
•Avoid exposure of the reconstituted vaccine to direct sunlight and high temperatures during inoculation.
•Use only clean, antiseptic, and/or disinfectant-free equipment for vaccine solution preparation and injection purposes.
•Disinfect the injection site and avoid inadvertent trauma.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
A limited number of cattle may develop swelling at the injection site. These swellings will disappear in time leaving no after-effects

USE DURING PREGNANCY OR LACTATION:
Tolerated.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER FORMS OF INTERACTION:
No information is available on the safety and efficacy of this vaccine associated with any other veterinary medicinal product. The decision to use this vaccine before or after any other veterinary medicinal product needs to be made on a case-by-case basis.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
•Apply usual aseptic procedures.
•The vaccine must be suspended in the sterile diluent provided: by means of a sterile syringe, transfer about 2 to 5 ml of the sterile diluent to the vial containing the freeze-dried vaccine. Mix thoroughly until the powder is dissolved. Transfer the suspension back to the remaining sterile diluent and mix well again. The vaccine is now ready for use and it must be injected without delay.
•Administer the vaccine subcutaneously.
•Dose: young and adult animals: 2 ml per animal.

Vaccination schedule:
•Primary-vaccination:
-Calves from vaccinated mothers: vaccination is carried out from the age of 4 to 6 months.
-Calves from unvaccinated mothers: vaccination is carried out from any age.

Booster: one annual injection.

It is preferable to vaccinate animals before the risk period: early spring.

OVERDOSE (SYMPTOMS, EMERGENCY PROCEDURES, ANTIDOTES) IF NECESSARY:
No adverse reactions other than those reported in section “Adverse reactions” were observed after the administration of 10 vaccine doses.

WITHDRAWAL TIME:
Zero-day.

INCOMPATIBILITIES:
Do not mix with other medicines, except the sterile diluent provided.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE:
Store and transport at a temperature between +2°C and +8°C, protecting from light. After reconstitution: use immediately.

Vial of 25 doses of freeze-dried vaccine + Vial of 50 ml of MCI Sterile Diluent.
Vial of 50 doses of freeze-dried vaccine + Vial of 100 ml of MCI Sterile Diluent.
Vial of 100 doses of freeze-dried vaccine + Vial of 200 ml of MCI Sterile Diluent.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MEDICINAL PRODUCTS OR WASTE MATERIALS DERIVED FROM THE USE OF SUCH PRODUCTS:
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
